Director Formulation and Process Development - CA
Our client company performs drug development for a broad base of pharmaceutical products. Pharmaceutical development employees are experienced, highly qualified team players, essential to the success of the company. They currently have a great opportunity for a highly motivated professional to lead the Formulation and Process Development activities.
CONTRIBUTIONS:
- Lead development of formulations for dermatological, topical applications.
- Manufacturing process development, scale-up to commercial levels, and technology transfer to CMOs.
- Supervise experienced formulation development team leaders.
- Utilize a thorough understanding of the pharmaceutical development process, including regulatory implications.
- Hiring, training, mentoring, and leading formulation staff.
- Creating systems, processes, & procedures as needed.
- Provide scientific leadership to team leaders and scientists.
- Assign project distribution and manage workloads of staff.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams.
- Establish and manage departmental budget.
- Build effective working relationships with pharmaceutical clients and other departments.
CAPABILITIES:
- PhD in Pharmaceutics or other related field.
- At least 10-15 years of formulation / process development experience.
- Significant number of years in a supervisory / managerial capacity.
- Expertise in developing dermatological, topical, ophthalmic formulations a strong plus.
- Breadth of knowledge in pharmaceutical development.
- Capacity to work independently on complex projects.
- Excellent people, leadership, analytical, and written / verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop the necessary leadership skills in subordinates.
- Experience in building and managing departmental budgets.
- Proven efficiency in project and time management.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, communication, and problem solving skills.
- Proven ability to form credible relationships with clients, internal peers, and subordinates.
